AIMC Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
As a school of traditional Chinese medicine, we follow the healers' oath of Sun Simiao, and we apply this oath to all members of our AIMC community.
We strive for clarity and to hold ourselves to the highest standards. We approach our community with an attitude of compassion, of benevolence, and of care regardless of circumstance. We seek to perform our responsibilities carefully, thoughtfully, and to the best of our ability. Above all, we maintain a peaceful presence and an open heart.
We cannot embody the healers oath with clarity and compassion without diversity, equity and inclusion, and we hope that through consistent effort, what we foster here will grow with the legacies of our students.
Examples of those efforts:
We take care to ensure our faculty embodies diversity and connection to the source language and culture of the medical tradition.
We review our curriculum and approach to education under the guidance of an academic standards committee of accomplished and diverse membership.
We take special care to ensure that we have multiple community clinic opportunities for students ensuring necessary experience to support diverse populations.
We offer ongoing educational content and events to support students, staff, and faculty who wish to learn how they grow in these areas.
